It isn’t fully HTML5 compliant, but a large portion of the language is supported in the new engine. So, if you’re comfortable with building web sites or pages, you should already be comfortable with the new language. The language that the new engine will use is HTML5 based. We can’t guarantee that it will cleanly port everything for you, but it should automate some of the parts to help you get converted. The goal with the tool is to help aid with the porting of your custom UI. While we cannot port your custom UI for you, we will be supplying a converter tool. For people that use or develop custom UIs, this next part is for you. This means some windows will be using the new engine and its features, and others will not. We will continue to port windows throughout the rest of the year. The initial launch will only have a part of all the windows in the UI ported.Do note that the features will not apply to windows that haven’t yet been ported and will apply as soon as the window is ported.Window docking – each window in the UI can “snap” to the edges of the entire game window and other windows within the UI when moving around the window. This would be like the scaling of the “Button Size” on hot bars right now or /chatfontsize in the Chat window, but it would apply to the entire UI all at once. This means if you want to make your UI larger (or smaller) you can use this and not have to use a custom UI to change the size of the text and images. Window scaling – there will be a slider that controls the scaling of all the windows that have already been ported. Some of the new features that will be there when we do the initial launch are:.That means that ideally, in this phase, it should look and behave like the current UI except for the new features. For people that use the default UI, we’re trying to make it as much like the current UI as possible.Once we have completed porting all the windows in the default UI to the new UI engine, we have plans to discuss a revamp of the UI / UX.We are performing a port which means we’re replacing the engine (the part the runs the UI) and not planning to do any changes to the look or flow of any of the existing windows in this phase. There’s some confusion around the new UI engine and if we’re doing a port or a revamp of the UI / UX.That was followed by a list ot things they chose to share While we’re not ready to answer all of them, here are some that we can answer now. We’ve seen lots of questions about the New UI Engine. I play the game to be social, so I like to keep the several I'm using, at that time, open.Interest in this particular update sparked notice in more people than just I, such that over in the forums the team decided to expand on their plan, at least to a certain extent. I also have a lot of chat windows open (guild, tell, fellowship, group). Needless to say that boxing has compounded these problems. I have tried changing my arrow color, that helped some - I'm guessing someone has already solved this as I can't be the only one who doesn't like the map. Not sure if the map is part of the UI, but I would like to get something that is easier to read when I make it small (ish) in the corner of my screen. Do you use pet commands in a bar or in your pet box (and why)? On my mage I ran out of bars. How do you color code your buttons? I use green for loot and pink for pet commands. Any discussion or suggestions would be appreciated. So, suggestions on what can be off screen would be appreciated too. I'm not sure what I should have up all the time so I have everything up. I really like whatever UI you are using in your videos, could you share what it is, please? It doesn't have any borders( to the buttons and stuff) in the videos.Īlso, if anyone wants to share a really good (efficient) placement of stuff, I would appreciate that too. Lately I have experimented with minimizing some windows to banners and the making them big when I need them - that works OK. My main may change, I'm just using the mage as an example because pet classes have one more window up than other classes. I would like a UI that doesn't have all the fancy borders, etc. In fact, sometimes I can't see the game enough to follow someone. My screen is so cluttered that I can barely see the game. My main main is a mage, and I raid with him. Could some people suggest some good custom UIs? - hopefully a place that explains how to install them.
